The Future of Indian Classical Music – Three Concerts back to back
Concert 1: Rajesh Prasanna – 6 PM
Born & hailing from a renowned family of musicians of Varanasi who have traditionally played & nurtured the shehnai for over two & half centuries, he has taken to music by inheritance.
He is the son of Pandit Rajendra Prasanna who is one of the great flute & shehnai players of the country.
Concert 2: Ujjwal Nagar – 7.15 PM
Ujwal Nagar is a promising young Hindustani classical vocalist from Delhi. He received his initial training in classical music from his mother, Guru Urmila Nagar, a renowned Kathak and Hindustani music exponent. He has also received intensive training from Late Ustad Bashir Ahmad Khan of Sikar and is also taking guidance from Pandit Sriram Umdekar and Pandit Somnath Mardur.
Concert 3: R. Sridhar – 8.30 PM
R Sridhar is an accomplished violinist based in Delhi. He has shown immense potential from a very young age. With able guidance from his Gurus Kalaimamani Shri. V.S.K.Chakrapani and Smt. Akhila Krishnan (D/o Late Shri Erode Vishwanatha Iyer), he has carved a niche for himself in the field of Carnatic music. He is an engineer by profession who has great passion for Carnatic Music.
