HCL Concerts Talent Hunt - Showcase Your Skills

Carnatic Quest Junior is conceptualized jointly by HCL Concerts and Rhapsody Music Foundation to identify gifted Carnatic
musicians in the age group of 12 to 18 years.

How it works

STEP 1

Submit your Application

  • The contest will invite entries across features 5 categories, i.e. Carnatic Vocal, Veena, Violin, Flute and Percussions (Mridangam, Ghatam and Kanjeeram).
  • The entries will be accepted from 5th November 2024 to 25th November 2024.
  • The form will be locked on 25th November 2024 and no further entries will be accepted.

STEP 2

Talent Evaluation and Short Listing

  • The accepted entries will be evaluated by our talent screening partner Rhapsody Music Foundation.
  • The contest team will then reach out only to the shortlisted musicians for details on performance submissions for the next rounds.
  • The results of each round will also be published on the Facebook and Instagram page of HCL Concerts.
  • There will be three such rounds to determine the winners of the contest.

STEP 3

Awards & Performances

One winner each from Violin, Veena, Flute, two winners from Percussion, along with three winners from Carnatic Vocals will win multiple prizes and get a chance to perform for the reputed HCL Concerts platform.

Selection Criteria

  • All amateur performers are eligible.
  • The Entries should be based on classical Carnatic Music only.
  • An artist must be from age group 12 to 18 years as of 1st November 2024.
  • The artist should not have done any professional performance or graded by AIR.
  • A short video performance of Carnatic classical music can be uploaded not exceeding 3 minutes for round 1 to reach us.

Application Process and Rules for Submitting Application

  • Kindly fill the form below with the required information.
  • Please make sure all information is correct and accurate.
  • The evaluation will be done based on a performance clip to be submitted in the form.
  • In order to submit the clip, please record and upload this performance on YouTube and then submit the link to that clip in the form
  • Entries will only be accepted if the submitted clip meets the following criteria
  • It should not exceed more than 3 mins long
    1. It must be audio and video
    2. It must be on YouTube
    3. The link must be public and accessible
    4. Only 1 performance clip link should be submitted
  • Any entries submitted with performance clips and links that do not meet above criteria will not be considered for the contest
  • Please note that the submission of any entry does not guarantee that it will be eligible for the competition. Kindly read the Application Process section to know more
  • The decision of the shortlisted entries for each round and final winners will be at the sole discretion of the HCL and the official talent screening partners and judges
